Coaching Network, Round 2 and Maybe 3

I’ve really enjoyed coaching a group of 12 church planters and I’m looking forward to continuing doing networks like this in the future.  Right now, we’re really looking at two different options.

1.  We’ll keep doing “on-site” coaching. The next network will start in March.  We had guys from Florida, Texas and Ohio come in for the last network, and there really was some great discussion.  I learned a lot and I think the guys in the network learned a lot as well.  I intentionally price it very low so it can be affordable for church planters.

2.  I’m also considering some kind of online option. I still think that in person is more effective for this type of training, but the travel can get expensive.  This would be 5 or 6 sessions…probably some kind of video chat, with maybe some ongoing discussion board type stuff.  Are you interested in something like this?

If you’re interested in either option, email my assistant Tracy and she will get you more information and an application.  For the network to work best, I cap it off around 12 people.

Biggest Leadership Issues

In last month’s coaching network, I asked the 12 guys about the biggest leadership issue they were facing.  Here were some of the responses.

  • Staffing for growth and the future
  • Balancing my age and experience with leadership
  • Restructuring current staff
  • Systems
  • Kids space and growth barriers
  • Sustainability
  • Acting like a church that’s double our size
  • Preparedness
  • Getting to know other churches

Those are some of the issues that we’re talking through in our network meetings.  I’m really excited about this groups of guys and the potential that they have to change the world.  Every single one of them can be a heavy hitter for the kingdom.

And in case you want to put it on your radar, I think I’m going to do two separate networks next year (beginning in January).  One will be for those who have not launched yet.  The other will be for those who have already launched.  Let me know if you want to get on an early waiting list for either.

Final Coaching Network Update

We’ve received applications from all over the country, and this week is the deadline to apply. I’ll be reading through all of the amazing applications and narrowing the list down to about 12 church planters or leaders.

If you’re interested, but haven’t applied, this is the last call. You can learn more about the network here, and the first session is in August.  If you’ve already applied, look for an email next week.

Coaching Network Halfway Full

I think the coaching network that Brian and I are leading is about halfway full, so if you’re interested in applying, contact Tracy soon for an application.

The network begins in August, and will cover things like vision, staffing, teaching, ministry, outreach, advertising, marketing, as well as the questions that you bring to the table. I’ll load you up with documents and resources from Oak Leaf Church and our graphic designer will do a custom series package for you.

There are some very expensive coaching networks out there, but this isn’t one of them.  But I do believe you will be challenged and stretched big time as a leader.

Documents for Your Church

If you are a part of the Launch and Lead coaching network for church planters, I’m going to give you about 50 documents and forms that we use at Oak Leaf Church.  These are field-tested resources that will save you tons of time. If you’re interested in the Coaching Network, which will begin in August and meet once a month for six months, you can email Tracy and she will get you an application.  I’ll be partnering with Brian Bloye from Westridge.  Also, our graphic designer will create a custom sermon series package – complete with graphic, postcard, and handout.  That’s worth the price of the network right there.

Here’s a sample of the documents and forms that I’ll give you.  (At this time, I’m only making them available for those people going through the network.)

Coaching Network Update

Applications are staring to come in for the church planters coaching network that’s set to begin this August.  We’re going to meet once a month for six months and talk nuts and bolts of church planting.  I’m limiting the network to about 10-12 people, who are just about to launch or are already launched, and I think it will be worth your while.

We’re going to talk staffing, vision, money, leading, ministry, programming, and more.  I’ll give you every document…bylaws, meeting agendas, forms…that we’ve got.  I’ll let you know how all our systems really work.   We’ll focus on how to launch and how to lead.  I will connect your staff with people on our staff as well, with the hopes of developing an ongoing relationship.  We’ll meet most of one day a month in Cartersville at the House of Rock, and lunch will be provided.

We’re partnering with Westridge, and I’ll invite some of my church planting friends in so we can learn from the people actually doing it.  Three years into this, I honestly believe that coaching is one of the missing pieces in most church plants.  Think about it…professional athletes still have coaches!

If you’re interested, email Tracy and she will send you an application.  The first meeting will be in August.
